BINGHAMTON (WBNG) -- A Binghamton City School District spokesperson says a burglary at East Middle School in recent days is connected to a break-in at another Binghamton school. This information has since been confirmed by Binghamton police.

The district spokesperson said alarms were triggered at Roosevelt Elementary School the night of November 30. They said it not appear there was any damage or items taken, so no police report was filed.

However, the spokesperson noted a teacher discovered an iPad and iPhone had been missing. A police report was then filed.

Marcus Hamlett, 27, was arrested with one count of burglary after a break-in early Thursday morning at East Middle School. Police say he tried to steal multiple computers, other electronic equipment and food.
